ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Treat equipment and tools as if they are your own
  • Work together as a team
  • Focus on the job at hand, not what everyone else is doing
  • Communicate with each other Show fellow crewmen and foremen respect
  • Help train new employees
  • Willingness to learn
  • Work Saturdays occasionally
  • Work overtime when required
  • Erects scaffolds
  • Apply caulking compounds by hand or with a caulking gun to seal crevices
  • Disassemble building framing
  • Performs work as assigned by crew foreman
  • Notifies safety director and crew foreman of any mechanical issues
  • Notifies crew foreman of any material issues
  • Examines specifications to determine dimensions of structure
  • Measure boards, timbers, or plywood and mark cutting lines on materials
  • Saw boards and plywood to required sizes
  • Cut and assemble timbers
  • Builds falsework to temporarily strengthen or protect buildings undergoing construction
  • Installs doors and windows
  • Installs sub-flooring in buildings
  • Installs steel or wood covering on the outer walls and roofs of buildings
  • Climb up and down on step ladders, extension ladders, and building framing
  • Pick up materials weighing 50-75 lbs regularly, occasionally lifting up to 120 lbs
  • Run power tools such as impact, screw gun, drill, saw, Sawzall, and jackhammer
  • Read a tape measure
  • Use a hammer
  • Operate Bobcats, Gehls, and scissor lift or any other equipment
  • Other duties may be assigned

  • No experience is necessary, but any experience in post frame or carpentry work is helpful

  • High School education or GED required
