Properly insulating and finishing your ceiling and walls is important. It’s also important to use trusted, proven materials that are durable. Today we’re exploring Pro-Line’s liner package.

Wall Liners

We have two different wall systems: standard frame and finished frame. Finished frame is bookshelf wall where wall girts are on 2’ cylinders. This allows us to insulate between the two girts. We insulate the cavity with R19 through R25—what we use depends on the wall thickness. We have additional options after that—we can insulate the building with an OSB liner plywood if that’s what the customer wants. In 95% of our buildings, we use an econo 20 liner panel. The profile on these panels is white and matches the steel on the outside.

Ceiling Liners

For ceilings, we use a 26-gauge utility R panel that spans from truss to truss. This offers a bit of a different rib design; it has 12” flats across it to give the opportunity for easy mounting of lights or conduit for the customer. We can also do an attic blow-in on top with insulation of R38 or R40. Some customers prefer to do a spray foam on top—this option isn’t extremely popular, but it is available.

The Finish

The client has a lot of options on what the interior build-out looks like. We can do everything from a high-end finish to a utility finish. A utility finish is using a color-steel panel to give the interior the “finished” appearance so that you’re not looking at the wood frame structure of the building. The more industrial the application, the more we go with steel panels. The more it’s about the aesthetics and the finished look for office buildings and retail (for example), the more the interior buildout is skewed to what you would see in a typical home construction.

Maintenance

Our liner packages offer an ideal ease of maintenance. The steel is easy to wipe down and clean in comparison to a wood or plywood where you’d perhaps need to paint it when it starts to fade or get dirty.

Liner packages may not be the flashiest part of a building project but selecting the right one for your project that will last is essential for the longevity of your building. Contact our team today to learn more about the packages we offer.
